About us
England's Finest!
In 1988, Nathan Hughes was in need of a new home for his family. It wasn't long before he found exactly what he was looking for. The flat was perfect and, better still, it came complete with a shop. Nathan was an engineer but had inherited his father's entrepreneurial spirit. The shop was a prize catch and so Nathan couldn't let it become the one that got away. But what would he sell in it?
Nathan was a keen angler and so this was a bit of a no brainer!
Bigger Fish to Fry
Nathan's of Derby had arrived and soon began to garner an excellent reputation. The exceptional range partnered by expert advice was a winning formula. In 2000 Nathan's of Derby relocated to larger premises but Nathan Hughes wasn't finished yet. The new shop was followed by the opening of a spacious angling centre in Stoke and the acquisition of a warehouse. The latter guaranteed that Nathan's could carry huge and unrivalled stock. Nathan's was going large!
Planet Nathan's
Anglers from across the UK and overseas were beating a path to Nathan's of Derby to choose from an unbeatable range of bait and bait boxes, rods, reels, poles, floats and hooks. With the best bivvies, chairs, scales, storage, sleeping bags and apparel on offer into the bargain, why wouldn't they? Nathan's was England's finest for carp, specimen, coarse and predator fishing equipment and supplies
Keeping it in the Family
Talking of England's finest, Nathan's of Derby remains a family run business and Nathan's son Cameron is now very much a part of the team. Cameron Hughes is a proud member of Drennan Team England so customers of Nathan's are able to seek expert advice from the very best.
